Understanding Junior Golf Rankings

Junior Golf Scoreboard (JGS) is the main ranking system college coaches use to evaluate players.

To qualify for JGS ranking:

  • Play in at least 4 events with 36-hole or longer formats.

  • Compete in nationally or regionally recognized events (Built Different Jr Tour events qualify).

  • Scores only apply to ranking over a 1-year period.

Ranking Factors:

  • Scoring Differential (your score vs course rating)

  • Strength of Field (who you play against)

  • Consistency (how often you finish near the top)
